Job Description
Canonical is seeking a Software Support Engineer to provide technical support for Ubuntu, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, Linux infrastructure, and other open-source technologies. The successful candidate will troubleshoot complex customer issues, collaborate with engineering teams, contribute bug fixes and patches, maintain technical documentation, and work closely with global customers. This is a fully remote position with teams operating across multiple time zones.
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, STEM, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong Linux system administration knowledge.
Experience with open-source technologies.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with distributed teams.
Willingness to travel internationally up to four times per year for team meetings and events.
Experience
Experience with Linux and open-source software. Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C, or C++. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Willingness to learn new technologies and occasionally travel for company events.
